Experience
Victoria’s broad career most recently included the role of Chief People Officer for a leading-edge, global technology company, during which she helped lead the company from private to public, establishing a people strategy and pivotal organizational foundations for achieving and sustaining their impressive growth.
Her cross-functional business acumen was also brought to bear in leading annual corporate strategic planning processes, spearheading a special advisory engagement with the CEO and Board for a complete go-to-market business review, acting as a key voice in financing and strategic transactions, and introducing cross-functional operational excellence capabilities to enhance data-driven decision making.
Her executive scope included developing board/CEO/executive compensation benchmarks, establishing total rewards structures as a public company, managing a CEO transition and business expansions, and providing financial disclosure committee oversight of corporate public filings and executive fiduciary oversight of Employee Benefit and Investment Committee activities.
Victoria now uses her fractional model to enable her extensive expertise and growth-centric, cross-functional approach to benefit visionary organizations.
Governance
Experience
Victoria brings 10+ years of strategic governance experience, including as Board Chair, Committee Chair, and Director of a $55+M provincial organization, one of the largest of its kind in North America, and currently as Director of a $180+M national organization.
As Board Chair, Victoria succeeded in elevating the board’s collective capabilities through extensive director development. She also oversaw the creation of a transformational 30-year vision and 5-year strategic plan, and established the foundation for a CEO succession and transition plan. In all her governance roles, Victoria has enriched board discussions through curious dialogue and a focus on director engagement. Her strong governance and financial acumen has also proven invaluable through her leadership on Finance and Audit, Human Resources, and Nominating committees.
Business & Governance Education
Victoria holds a Master of Business Administration from Royal Roads University, a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University, and a graduate certificate in Executive Coaching.
Her governance education includes a tailored board governance foundation program in partnership with Watson Board Advisors, as well as completing Boardroom Financial Essentials (Institute of Corporate Directors / ICD), Chair with Intention (Watson), and the Chairs Forum (Women Get on Board / WGOB). Victoria continues to enhance her governance education through active membership and participation in ICD and WGOB continuing education sessions.
